MEET ESTEBAN RODRIGUEZ

PROVEN LEADERSHIP DELIVERING RESULTS FOR OUR COMMUNITY

To the Citizens of San Benito who care about the future of our city…

Hello everyone, my name is Esteban Rodriguez

I would like to start by saying that “I am not a politician, I am a citizen of San Benito who happens to love this city, and I care strongly about its future!”

I take a lot of pride in saying that San Benito is my hometown; born and raised! I grew up in a large family; my parents were Pablo & Maria Rodriguez, they managed to raise all 9 of us to be good citizens and instilled Christian values in all of us; they will forever be the voice in my head. My family and I were also migrants, so I’m not intimidated by hard work. As I look back on to those days, I am proud to say that this life experience instilled in me a fundamental work ethic, which helped to shape who I am today.

I met my wife Angela in high school; she’s my high school sweetheart, and this year we'll be married for 28 years. We also have three children, all of whom we are very proud, our oldest daughter Hillarie Deciga 27, our son Jacob 25, and our youngest Lauren is 16. We have also been blessed with two beautiful grandchildren, Sofia and Osias.

In 1989 I began to work for a local delivery company doing courier work. I found this job to be very gratifying and mastered it well; after some time there, I decided I was ready to venture out on my own. In 1999 with the support of my wife and family behind me, I started my own freight company, "Rodriguez Freight Systems."

My freight company has been running for 19 years and throughout those years I have acquired a skill set and experience that you can only obtain over time. I know what it takes to find solutions, to work with people on many different levels, and how to get results, but to be honest, none of my experience would mean a thing if I didn’t have desire in my heart, the vision to see well into the future, and passion that never lets me give up; these are the attributes that I possess, and if I am re-elected as your City Commissioner I will continue to strive to make San Benito a better place to live for all of us. Reflecting on the last three years serving as your commissioner, I feel that with myself working along-side the Mayor and commissioners, we have begun to move the city in a positive direction. I am running for re-election because I want to continue working hard on current and upcoming projects for the betterment of our city, and improve the quality of life for our citizens. Combining what I have learned serving as a commissioner, along with my business experience, I am confident that we can continue the momentum in moving our city forward; coming together in making the difficult decisions that will propel San Benito to the forefront as a place to live & visit. Thank You!
